9/12/11 - Or, the Whale Vinyl Release Spotlighted in Music Connection Magazine! In the September issue of Music Connection Magazine, currently on newsstands, readers will find a spotlight on Or, the Whale's unique vinyl release of their self-titled album.

6/30/11 - Or, the Whale Update! New songs from Or, the Whale are coming very soon. The band is taking the summer to write its much-anticipated third album. After several US tours and a European tour, Or, the Whale is anxious to get back in the studio just as soon as band members choose which songs will be featured on the album.

5/31/11 - Or, the Whale Hits the Road Again! Just off a 2 month tour of the UK and the United States, Or, the Whale is packing its bags again and this week heading up north, where the band will be performing songs from its next eagerly anticipated release.

4/25/11 - Or, the Whale Lands Song in Movie! Entertainment company Good Worldwide Inc. has made entered a contract with Seany Records to have the Or, the Whale song "Fixin' To Leave" included in its new production.

4/15/11 - Or, the Whale Honored by U.K.'s Premier Music Magazine! Word Magazine has selected Or, the Whale to be included in its new Word Compilation Album along with stars such as Alison Krauss. The Or, the Whale song selected by the editors is the band's hit single "Datura".

4/14/11 - Or, the Whale Home from Two Month Tour of U.K. and America! Or, the Whale is home from nearly two months on the road performing in front of thousands of fans. The band had a blast on the West Coast with our new bff's Olin and the Moon (and Thor!) and Horde and the Harem, enjoyed the insanity of their third straight SXSW, and rocked it hard on their Midwestern and Rocky Mountain tour with the stony Vermonters in Chamberlin. The sold-out hometown Rickshaw Stop show was fantastic, and it was great for the band to see so many friends/family after being gone for so long.

Or, the Whale has some upcoming shows to talk about, including last-minute shows with the amazing Mother Hips in Folsom and the Olin boys in Davis! Make sure to get tickets early for that Folsom show! PS- More big news! Or, the Whale is finally gearing up to head back in the studio for their next album. New stuff is on the way!

3/17/11 - Or, the Whale Back from the UK and onto SXSW! Or, the Whale's first foray into the wilds of England was a blast. The band played lots of great shows and wants to sincerely thank all of the fans who came out to see them in every town they played. Special thanks go out to all of the bands/artists that opened up shows. Or, the Whale hopes to get back across the pond sooner than later. For an easy way to follow Or, the Whale's (mis)adventures and see what they saw, check out their Blog or Facebook page! In the meantime, Or, the Whale heads back on tour playing all down the West Coast. Then, they embark on their third-straight South by Southwest festival, highlighted by the official SXSW showcase show for No Depression! The tour will then continue through the Midwest and back over the Rockies to San Francisco. See you all at a show or two!

3/4/11 - The Or, the Whale U.K. tour has only two more shows! Then it's back to SF for a few days and off to SXSW and their 2011 U.S. tour. Tonight the band will be in Liverpool soaking in musical history, and then Saturday they wrap things up in Ripon. Thanks to everyone who made this tour awesome - and you can be sure that the band will be back over the pond soon!

2/14/11 - Or, the Whale arrival in London is this Wednesday! The self-titled album is being officially released in the UK via Proper Distribution today! The band will be performing all over England and Scotland in the coming weeks. Take a look at Or, the Whale's web site or myspace page for more info. on shows. Or, the Whale returns to the states on March 6th and have a day to rest before they head out on a California tour with Olin and the Moon (LA) and Horde and the Harem (Seattle). The CA tour takes the band around Northern and Southern California before a stop in Arizona on their way to SXSW 2011 in Austin, Texas. They'll be playing the No Depression Showcase as well as a few free day parties during the festival. Again, keep your eyes online for all show information. Post-SXSW, Or, the Whale head through the Midwest with a great band from Burlington, Vermont called Chamberlin and continue on throughout the West with them until April 8th. Keep your eyes on Or, the Whale's blog and Twitter for loads of tour updates, pictures, and videos.

1/31/11 - No Depression Magazine and Or, the Whale Team Up at SXSW! Or, the Whale has been invited by No Depression Magazine to perform at this year's showcase. All attending this year's SXSW, make sure to check out the band at the Soho Lounge on 6th St., where they will be hitting the stage at 10pm.

1/28/11 - U.K.'s Hottest Magazine Gives Or, the Whale Four Star Review! In anticipation of Or, the Whale's upcoming U.K. concert tour, Uncut Magazine has published a review of the band's music.

1/21/11 - Or, the Whale debuts on the BBC! In anticipation of Or, the Whale's upcoming UK concert tour, the BBC has starting spinning music from Or,the Whale's self-titled album. View Or, the Whale on BBC. More UK news to come!

12/18/10 - Or, the Whale heads into 2011 with their new song "New Year"! Or, the Whale performed with their newest members Sean on bass and Lia on keyboard at a recent sold out performance at the Great American Music Hall. Check out this fan's video.

12/9/10 - Or, the Whale to release album in UK! On 2/14/11, Seany Records will be releasing Or, the Whale's self-titled album to coincide with the band's upcoming UK tour. The band's UK fans will not only hear songs from the band's two releases, but they will also get to hear new Or, the Whale songs that will be featured on the band's next release.

12/3/10 - Or, the Whale welcomes new band members Lia Rose and Sean Barnett into the OTW fold. Their first shows with Or, the Whale will be with the band's great friends, The Mother Hips. They'll be in Chico on December 5th (sold out!) and in San Francisco on December 18th at the Great American Music Hall. We hope to see you there as the band finishes 2010 right with their friends, The Mother Hips.

12/1/10 - Or, the Whale invades the U.K.! Or, the Whale's first-ever European tour kicks off on February 17, 2011, and continues through March 5, 2011. Catch the band in London on March 1st at the world famous venue The Bull & Gate.

11/30/10 - Less than a week until Or, the Whale jumps on stage with the Mother Hips at the Great American Music Hall!

11/18/10 - Before Or, the Whale's recent concert performance at the House of Blues in San Diego, Alex and Tim sat down for an interview with with USD Radio.

11/15/10 - Or, the Whale and "Toxic" now available! Or, the Whale's cover version of the Britney Spears song "Toxic" is garnering new fans worldwide for the band. With the song being released by EMI Records in France, Seany Records has made "Toxic" available for its fans in the U.S. via iTunes and all other major digital download stores.

11/01/10 - BandSoup Compilation album has arrived! Or, the Whale recently was honored by BandSoup as one of its Artists of the Year. Or, the Whale's hit single "Datura" is now featured on the album "Best of BandSoup"

10/25/10 - Or, the Whale is honored by Music Connection Magazine! In Music Connection's special year-end issue, Or, the Whale will be listed as one of the Top National Bands of 2010, as voted by the Music Connection staff of writers and contributors.

10/18/10 - Rhythm Zone and Or, the Whale together at last! Rhythm Zone and Or, the Whale have entered into a licensing agreement in which the band will provide to Rhythm Zone five of its most popular songs. Rhythm Zone is a beat-matching game played online that currently has a community of over 25 million users and growing.

10/14/10 - Or, the Whale scores another nomination! For the third consecutive year Or, the Whale scores a best record nomination in the Americana/Roots category for the HMMA Awards. This year's nominated song is "Rusty Gold", which can be found on their latest self-titled album. The ceremony will take place at the Kodak Theater Complex in Hollywood on November 18, 2010.

10/12/10 - EMI and Or, the Whale team up! Or, the Whale will be showcasing its haunting version of the Britney Spears song "Toxic" on EMI Music France's soon to-be-released Play It Folk 2 compilation album. Or, the Whale will be appearing alongside artists such as The Flaming Lips, Lily Allen, and Cat Power. Coinciding with this release, Seany Records will be making "Toxic" available via iTunes and all other digital download stores.

10/04/10 - Seany Records recording artist Or, the Whale received a nomination today for a Hollywood Music In Media Award for their song " Rusty Gold" in the category of Best Americana/Roots; the song can be found on the band's latest self-titled release. The HMMA ceremony will take place at the Kodak Theater Complex in Hollywood on November 18, 2010.

9/30/10 - MTV and Or, the Whale join forces! Or, the Whale has entered into a licensing agreement with MTV Networks. MTV, along with its team of music supervisors and producers, will be including music from Or, the Whale's debut album Light Poles and Pines and its follow-up self-titled album for all its MTV Network productions.

9/24/10 - ReverbNation and Or, the Whale equals #1! Or, the Whale has taken control of the #1 position as the top country rock band in the Bay area with over 23,000 fans continuing to support the band. Check out Or, the Whale and ReverbNation at: www.reverbnation.com/orthewhale

9/20/10 - Or, the Whale's shows with Langhorne Slim were awesome! Thanks to all who came out to the shows and bought merch (the band sold so much vinyl). Or, the Whale enjoyed working with Britt and (((Folk Yeah!))), and they can't wait to do it again. The next two weeks will consist of a Friday show with The Mother Hips and a Saturday festival show. 8/01/10 - Or, the Whale has a ton of new shows booked this month, most of them with These United States. They will be playing everywhere from Santa Cruz to SF, CA to Phoenix and Tuscon, AZ. Check the dates and locations and come out to see the band!

7/30/10 - Today the International Association of Independent Recording Artists, IAIRA (www.iaira.com) announces that Or, the Whale has been recognized and honored for its achievement in sound recording with the organization's certification as an International "Top 10". The certification is awarded to bands that attain a Top 10 record on one of the reporting music charts monitored by the IAIRA.

7/13/10 - Seany Records is proud to announce that Or, the Whale has been signed by two exciting new booking agents! The band will be working with Blackbird Artists Agency for bookings in the U.S. Blackbird Artists Agency is known for booking tours for compelling new indie bands on the rise. The Bob Paterson Agency has taken on the band for bookings in the U.K. and Ireland. BPA Live is a fast-growing booking agency that books tours for some of America’s most beloved singer-songwriters and bands. Keep checking back for new tour dates in your town or country.

6/29/10 - Or, the Whale co-headlined a sold-out show with Joe Pug in Santa Barbara on June 26th at the Lobero Theatre for their "Sings Like Hell" Concert Series. The Santa Barbara Independent spotlighted this noteworthy show, which can be found at Write Up SBI.

6/24/10 - No Depression Magazine features Or, the Whale! Check out Or, the Whale video link on the magazines web site home page. No Depression Website.

6/15/10 - Or, the Whale has been nominated for an Indie-Music.com Top 25 Award. The band is being promoted on the front page and music page on the site. In addition, Or, the Whale is now featured on the "New & Notable" Radio Station, which means they are now entered in the annual "Top 25" Awards, presented in early January of each year. 6/02/10 - Top Five! That is where Or, the Whale's current single "Datura" has landed this week on the NMW Country Top Thirty Indie Chart. "Datura" also continues its climb up the NMW Country Main Chart, where it currently sits at #12.

6/01/10 - Or, the Whale's and Olin & The Moon's Friday night sold-out show at Spaceland in LA got a surprise endorsement when Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams tweeted about the show.

5/27/10 - Or, the Whale blasts into the Top Ten! In its 21st week of release, Or, the Whale's single "Datura" has landed in the top ten on the NMW Country Top 30 Indie Chart, where it currently sits at #8. This is the second time visiting the top ten on this chart for the band. Last year, the single "Call and Response" from Or, the Whale's debut album, Light Poles and Pines, also cracked the top ten.

5/07/10 - Or, the Whale's single "Datura", off its self-titled album, continues to burn up radio stations nationwide with airplay on over 100 stations and counting. The song currently sits at #25 with a bullet on the NMW Country Main Chart. The song also continues to heat up the NMW Country Top 30 Indie Chart, where it sits at #13.

5/04/10 -Or, the Whale, previously voted BeatCrave Artist of the Week, have announced today that they have gone on to win Artist of the Month! BeatCrave will be spotlighting Or, the Whale on its site via an exclusive interview with Or, the Whale to take place on May 10th.

4/29/10 - Last week, Or, the Whale was voted the BeatCrave Band of the Week. BeatCrave is a online destination for all things cool when it comes to music. Everyday they provide local and national breaking news, exclusive interviews, reviews, free legal mp3s, and a ton of giveaways. This week, Or, the Whale is featured in BeatCrave's online fav poll for Band of the Month and is up against two other bands to see which band has the most passionate fans. Go online and vote today!

4/08/10 - The IMA Publishing Group has announced that Or, the Whale recently entered into a deal to solicit movie and television placements for the band's music. The IMA Publishing group is a newly-formed licensing division of The Independent Music Awards, a unique international program that vets self-released and independent label artists from around the world and offers synch and master licenses for a diverse roster of award-winning, independent talent.

4/06/10 - With airplay on nearly 100 stations and counting, Or, the Whale's single "Datura", off the artists' self titled album, is a hit at radio stations nation-wide. The song currently sits at #41 with a bullet on the NMW Country Main Chart. The song has also blasted onto the NMW Country Top 30 Indie Chart, where it sits at #24.

3/19/10 - Or, the Whale's Alex Robins is interviewed by radio legend Big Kev at the 2010 SXSW Music Festival.

3/15/10 - Today in Billboard Magazine's special SXSW edition, Or, the Whale is listed as one of the buzz bands to watch at the 2010 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas.

2/25/10 - Or, the Whale proudly announces that the band has signed an exclusive management agreement with Alex Steininger and his firm In Music We Trust.

1/27/10 - Or, the Whale's single "Datura" which is off its self titled new album is a hit at radio stations nationwide with airplay on 45 stations and counting. NMW Country Charts this week placed the song on their Country Up And Coming Chart.

1/04/10 - Hitting radio stations all across the country today is the first official single release from Or, the Whale's new self-titled album. The song is the band's critically-acclaimed "Datura".

12/08/09 - The 9th annual Independent Music Awards has announced today that Or, the Whale has been nominated for Best Song in the Americana category for their hit Call and Response.

11/03/09 - Or, the Whale invades LA! Or, the Whale winds up its national concert tour with two LA area performances. On November 6th at 9pm, the band takes the stage at the world famous Hotel Cafe, located in the heart of Hollywood. The next evening the band takes the stage at the fantastic Echo Curio in Echo Park. This performance also kicks off at 9pm.

10/14/09 - Seany Records announces today that recording artists Or, the Whale were nominated for a Hollywood Music In Media Award for their song Datura that can be found on the band's new self-titled album. The ceremony is to take place at the Kodak Theater Complex in Hollywood on November 19th, 2009.

10/02/09 - Or, the Whale makes a guest appearance at the prestigious Daytrotter Studios in Rock Island, Illinois, where the band performed several cuts from their new self-titled album.

9/15/09 - Or, the Whale's new self-titled album hits stores today! The album is available digitally and on CD and LP. The band will kick off its 33-date concert tour in support of the new album on October 1st in St. Louis, MO.

8/14/09 - While Or, the Whale is in Seattle for the August 14 show, the band will be recording a performance at KEXP studios for the station's "Swingin' Doors" show. The band records on Friday, August 14 at 4pm, and the broadcast will take place on Thursday, August 20 at 8pm.

8/10/09 - Or, the Whale's myspace page now features the most recent EPK video. Check it out at Or, the Whale on Myspace.

7/17/09 - Or, the Whale announces today the debut of their re-designed web site.

7/08/09 - Or, the Whale today debuts their redesigned MySpace page, featuring a new song from their sophomore album, which will be hitting stores on September 15th. The song is called "Rusty Gold". Additional new songs will debut on the MySpace page in the coming weeks leading up to the September 15th release. Listen to Or, the Whale on Myspace.

5/28/09 - Or, the Whale announced today that steel guitarist Tim Marcus is now endorsed by the Rains Steel Guitar Co. Later this year Tim will be performing with a new steel guitar customized by Rains to Tim's specifications.

5/22/09 - Or, the Whale performs live on CW6's San Diego Living to promote their May 22 show at the Beauty Bar.

5/20/09 - Tonight, Or, the Whale kicks off its May tour with a performance in Los Angeles at the Silverlake Lounge to be followed the next evening by a second Los Angeles performance at the world famous Viper Room. The band will be performing several songs from their upcoming new album.

4/17/09 - Or, the Whale opens for Tea Leaf Green and a crowd of hometown fans at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco.

4/06/09 - The CMJ Blast Staff Blog names Or, the Whale as its "Ourstage Pick".

4/03/09 - Or, the Whale announces more concert dates in support of their debut release Light Poles And Pines.

3/12/09 - Or, the Whale kicks off the second leg of their tour with a sold out performance at the Silverlake Lounge in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to performing their hit "Call and Response", the band treats the crowd to several new songs that will be featured on their next album.

2/26/09 - Or, the Whale will be celebrity D.J.'s for the Diesel Jeans/Fader Magazine Party, which will be held during the 2009 Noise Pop Music Festival. The event will take place on February 25th at the Union Square Diesel Store located in San Francisco, CA.

2/16/09 - Seany Records recording artists Or, the Whale announced today that the band has been requested to perform on April 17th at the historic concert venue The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA. along with Tea Leaf Green.

2/09/09 - Seany Records announced today that recording artists Or, the Whale will be kicking off their upcoming tour with a live performance at the worldwide headquarters of iTunes located in Cupertino, CA. The performance will take place February 17th.

1/29/09 - Seany Records announces Or, the Whale's debut single "Call and Response" a hit. With airplay reaching well over 100 radio stations nationwide and counting, in addition to radio airplay in several international territories including Australia and Japan, "Call and Response" has climbed the New Music Weekly Country Main Chart and currently sits at #26 and has reached #12 on the Country Top 30 Indie Chart.

12/16/08 - On November 20, Or, the Whale received a Hollywood Music Award for best song in the Americana/Roots Category for their single Call and Response. The awards ceremony's broadcast reached a world-wide audience of over 120 million households.

11/03/08 - Seany Records announced today that recording artists Or, the Whale were nominated for a Hollywood Music Award for best band in the Americana/Roots category for their current single "Call and Response". The ceremony is to take place at the Kodak Theater Complex in Hollywood on November 20th, 2008 and will be televised and broadcast to 16 countries worldwide with a audience of over 120 million viewers.

10/16/08 - Seany Records today announced that the November 21st performance of Or, the Whale @ Cafe du Nord in San Francisco will be filmed for an upcoming live concert DVD to be released next year. The DVD will contain not only the electrifying live performance of Or, the Whale but will also contain many behind the scene moments and interviews with the band.

9/15/08 - Seany Records is proud to announce recording artists Or, the Whale will have two of their songs featured in the PBS show Roadtrip Nation and Fuel TV's The Daily Habit. Both shows will feature the songs "Call and Response" (the bands lead single from their forthcoming CD "Light Poles and Pines") and "Prayer for the Road" which will also be included on the CD. 9/05/08 - Seany Records is proud to announce that today they have entered into a national distribution deal with Burnside Distribution. The first Seany Records release through Burnside will be the January 20th 2009 release of Or, the Whale's "Light Poles and Pines".

9/02/08 - Seany Records is proud to announce today that they have entered into a strategic sponsorship agreement with the Hollywood Music Awards. The agreement centers around a very special award that will be presented at the ceremony which takes place on November 20th at The Hollywood Highlands in the world famous Kodak Theater Complex in Hollywood California. This award is called The Seany Robins Rock Artist of the Year Award and is named after Sean Lewis Robins for which The Seany Foundation was created. The Seany Foundation, a non-profit organization headquartered in San Diego, is dedicated to finding the cure for pediatric cancers that challenge thousands of children a year. Created in 2006, The Seany Foundation was inspired by Sean, a courageous teen who battled Ewing's sarcoma (ES), a rare bone cancer, for seven years. By funding vital research and helping children thrive and survive the demands of cancer, The Seany Foundation will be a part of the cure for pediatric cancer, a leading cause of death in children. Everyone at Seany Records is very excited to be part of The Hollywood Music Awards and the light that it will shine as it helps bring awareness to the message that is The Seany Foundation.

5/13/08 - Seany Records recording artists Or, the Whale today appeared on the ABC Television Show Good Morning America. The performance took place in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and was broadcast to millions nationwide.
